In no particular order, here are the photos from my last trip out of the country -- February 2020. I had no idea that the pandemic would reach the level that it did, and at the time I felt very safe traveling as there were very few people and most of my fellow passengers were wearing masks.
Seoul is one of the coolest cities I've ever visited. When I went there weren't a lot of people out and about, and I saw maybe 10 entire faces the whole time I was there. Security guards would yell at people to wear masks when I visited museums, which were also very empty. I visited so many palaces I lost track of which where which. If you're ever interested in visiting the palaces in Seoul, save money and buy the all-access pass.
What else: the night clubs were cool. The music was everything on the radio in the States + K-pop and sometimes even reggaeton. They are with it and I loved that.
I went to my first jjimjilbang to pass the time on my last day before heading to the airport and loved it. It was awkward being the only foreigner.
Bukhansan National Park was a fun hike. Usually when I travel to other countries I don't hike, but I plan on changing that now.
I am so disappointed I wasn't able to return to Seoul in the summer, as I'd hoped. I also didn't get to visit the DMZ and probably never can, since the Liaison Office was destroyed. But, I know I'll be able to make it back eventually and I hope you enjoyed my photos.
