But I can't believe so many Americans would have the gall to post such ridiculously hateful things about Japan in spite of their ignorance. Seriously - if you've heard of Pearl Harbor, you should also know a little bit about the atomic bomb. The two atomic bombs. Hello?Anyone home? And, unless they survived Hiroshima or Nagasaki and sense a resemblance in the amount of damage it did, I'm sure Japanese-U.S. relations are the last things on their mind right now.

ReplyDeleteI don't know a single person who said (or even thought) anything like that. These people are disgusting. Not only was Pearl Harbor 65 years ago (and Hawaii wasn't even a state, and the attack was on a military installation and not civilians, etc.), Japan is one of our closest allies. Like the UK. I don't remember anyone saying "Terrorist bombings in the Tube. Payback for the Boston Massacre!"
ReplyDeleteI actually just read some of those to the three dudes in my living room: Nick said, "I thought that atomic bomb was payback for Pearl Harbor." Our roommate Marty says, "Fuck those Facebook dudes." And his friend John says, "Wait, TWO atomic bombs. What the fuck is wrong with people?"

No, not my friends. I found this montage when I was surfing Explosm's forums - and I just find it all so stupid that I had to say something about it. And apparently Mommy knows some similar people.
